Chris Levine, The Lightness of Being
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the ‘Stolen Space’ gallery to see the Lightness of Being, wow what a fabulous show. The portraits of the Queen are amazing, giving an almost three dimensional look at her majesty with out having to bow. The subliminal lights flicker in the corner of your eye and the word ‘LOVE’ flashes to mind. The lasers in the warehouse type gallery fire fine lines across the room almost cutting it in to shards of memory. I believe this show has finished now, but if you get a chance to see Chris Levine’s work it's a must.

FabricLive 36, James Murphy & Pat Mahoney
I have been listening to this album for ages, it has an amazing New York sound that I can't get enough of. The gems for me are; Beginning of heartbreak – A wonderful build up, leading you into the delight of what the rest of the album has to offer, oh and a revival of majestic sax. Love has come around – This has a fantastic looping pop sound. GQ. Lies – This track makes me wonder whether Disco ever died or not?

A Recipe for Disaster
Over the past few months I have been designing the lighting for ‘A Recipe for Disaster’, the latest theatre production to hit London’s Pacific Playhouse.
The opening night is this Thursday, July 26th - it's set to be a storm and hopefully the Sunday lunch matinee will have the audience bursting with enthusiasm and not the food!
I will be adding the project to the site over the next couple of weeks, so check back soon.

Parachute
I first collaborated with Lisa Childs on the Wallpaper Chandelier design for 100% Light last year. We have continued to work together since, the latest product of our collaborative efforts is Parachute, which we are launching today at ICFF in New York City.
Parachute is a lampshade made from minimal standard parts to create a stunning light with no fuss, a product resulting from a combination of Lisa's design skills and my production experience.

BOUF
BOUF is an online boutique recently launched by my friend Alex Griffin. BOUF gives designers / artists a platform to sell limited edition and one-off niche products to the public at a low comission. A bonus for me is this is a great way to sell my work (Shards & Shadows is currently avaliable) in the company of other designers.

Catch 22
Catch 22 is a magazine I have recently stumbled across. I am interested in the idea behind the magazine...'to create a magazine for young creatives to launch their work'. There are some great features 'The Pigeon man' in the gallery section is inspired, and 'Dea & Frisko' stands out. The magazine has a colourful variety of articles from 'Sunday League football' to 'Revolutionaries' one highlight for me was the brief introduction to SO (Striding Out) a company that helps guide self employed creatives in getting work and achieving goals.

Nick Crobie 'I'll keep thinking'
I had a meeting with Zena Bruges last week and she recommended checking out this book by Nick Crosbie about how he got started with Inflate. It was a interesting and worthwhile account, unlike a lot of business books, this book gives you an insight into real first-hand experiences of a designer setting up a business and learning the ropes.

Maison & Objet
Set in the idyllic milieu of Villepinte Paris, Maison & Objet (26th - 30th January 2007) is a contemporary show of the upmost importance and quality in design calender. I will be exhibiting ‘Shards & Shadows’ for the first time to the European market with a special silver limited edition.
I will also be launching my new website at the show, which is just about complete - product image galleries and development diaries to be added next month.

Interior Design Magazine, New York
Following the success of 'Shards & Shadows' at the New York International Contemporary Furniture Fair last year, I was invited to have my product featured in the fall issue of Interior Design Magazine. In October 2006, ‘Shards & Shadows’ featured prominently in the lighting section along side Ingo Maurer.

Pixelnotes
Duncan Wilson’s post-it wallpaper grabbed my attention soon after 100% Light.I love the concept of this wallpaper - a fun and functional product. An integrated noticeboard that documents activity within the room whilst pixilating your studio walls with reminders and messages is fantastic.
